I've been epileptic for almost 14 years it started small with just focal, then i started losing my bladder and going completely unconscious, and now over the last 2 years i an unconscious, loss of bladder, confused, and when i do become aware i am completely paralyzed for about 15-20 minutes. Any knowledge as to why i am becoming paralyzed would be greatly appreciated

Your seizures are hitting the part of your brain that motivates your movements. Even though your out of your seizure and alert that part of your brain is still recovering.

It’s sort of like losing your blood circulation in your hand and it goes numb and you can’t move it. Most of your body is able to function but that one hand is still working on getting back the blood flow.

Tracey T, that's all a part of the Grand mal (generalized tonic-clonic) seizure process.
I can't explain it, only that your brain just "crashed" like your computer does once in a blue moon. You want to get off the floor but cant. It takes 20 minutes. You feel helpless. And you peed yourself. It s temporary paralysis.

i think you are haveing a severe partial (focal onset impaired awareness) seizures or generalized tonic clonic (grand mals). i have complex partial and tonic clonics. i froze after a tonic clonic for a couple of minutes after. for me the only thing was surgery.
