Can anyone share their experience with the VNS? i am having one put in sometime in the next couple months. After insurance pre-authorization and doctor schedules me. My seizure specialist had personally helped to make the machine better. How cool is that?
I wish you all the luck in the World Mary. I felt very little pain after both surgeries. We all have our fingers crossed Sweetie:)
You got it! I got a shamrock & wish you luck!
It is is implanted under the skin in your upper chest. there is very little scar it can hardly be seen unless you are looking for it. It doesn't bulge out. You have to feel for it to know it is there. They run the wires under the skin up to your neck. So there is no scarring where the wires are run. Then there's a small cut on your neck where they wrap the wires around the vagus nerve. when this heals leaves a very little scar which is hard to see unless you're looking for it. As far as showing it dosen't. I have to fill for it to know it's there.
Did the Neurologist tell you about in a few years the battery will need to be changed?
