Great question — navigating disability benefits can feel like solving a puzzle blindfolded! The short answer is: it's possible, but it depends on your specific situation.

If you receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) due to your epilepsy, you may also qualify for SNAP (food assistance) benefits, as SSI is income-based and often opens doors to other assistance programs.

Regarding your son receiving money because of your disability, this may be possible through:

- Social Security dependent benefits — if you receive SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), your dependent child may qualify for additional payments
- SSI does not typically include dependent child payments in the same way

A few important things to keep in mind:

- Eligibility rules vary by state
- Your household income and size are key factors for SNAP
- Having a child dependent may actually help your SNAP eligibility

The best step is to contact your local Social Security Administration (SSA) office directly, as they can walk through your specific situation. A social worker can also be a huge help in figuring out what you qualify for.

I do not know about SSI or SDI. My Disability is due to my Learning Differences. It might have to do with how severe your seizures are, how much they effect your life. I spent years as a Telemarketer because it was very simple and I was good at it. Now that it is the Election Season, I am callling for that..
