My parents always get a big present from my brother, who can drive and work when I don’t have the money and can’t drive.
I am on disability, not cannot give expensive gifts. I just feel happy that my family understands
I make pottery and give them as gifts, or a e-card on line from Facebook. Or just send a paper card.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Try not to let that bother you. Your parents understand your circumstances & don’t expect anything except for you to take care of yourself. If you want to do something for them & have the materials, I know you’re very creative in different ways with the variety types of art work you can do. For different types of holidays I have made my Mom a homemade card by using one sheet of construction paper & fold it over just like a regular card & then I write a message on the outside saying like Happy Easter or something like that & then I write it again on the inside but add more to the message & I decorate the outside & inside with the different types of stamps I have like an Easter egg, or if it’s Christmas then I’d use the Christmas 🎄 tree stamp along with the snowman ⛄️ & I may use my colored pencils & decorate the card in some way with those. I’m not an artist but it’s something small I can give her. So if you have anything around your house that you might could use to make a homemade card or something to put together with the neat art you do, I’m sure they’d love it. I hope this helps a little. Remember, it’s not the size or price of the gift, it’s the thought that counts. Your friend in Texas, Becky
No, not at all. What I think is sad is that too often so much emphasis is put on the value of a gift or one upping someone else. When someone does give an expensive luxurious gift, I am happy the giver has the ability to do so and happy the recipient is givien something they like, want, and may not have been able to afford.
A friend always gives me expensive gifts and derives great pleasure in doing so . Even though the gifts of the three wisemen were not of equal value, they were all considered to be valuable.
Value does not necessarily mean monetary value. I treasure inexpensive and handmade gifits more than something expensive because they make me think of those people who have since passed away.and I cherish the memories those gifts hold.
Christmas has become too commercialized. It's not about the gift it's about the thought behind it.

I’m the same , I have no $. But as others said it’s not the gift. Anyone can ( except us lol) can buy a huge shiny gift. Money can’t buy happiness .
