activities do you enjoy doing when having a bad day? Or how do you spend that day when not feeling 100% . I’ll start first on a day that I really don’t feel 100%. I will normally keep my body comfortable. I just staying in my PJs and bathrobe for the day while relaxing on the couch with my feet propped up at times I may read a book off my Kindle or choose to work on a Lego kit. I might have that I’m working on other times. I will just do nothing and just chill on the couch.

Members shared how they spend low-energy days at home, with many agreeing that comfort and self-care come first, whether that means staying in pajamas, reading, playing games, or simply resting on the couch. Several members described gentle activities that help them recharge, like short walks, listening to music, light exercise, or cooking meals in advance to prepare for harder days ahead. A recurring theme was that every person's situation is different, and doing what works best for your own body is not selfish but a necessary form of self-care.

When in that type of situation I tend to focus on the area causing the difficulty by providing self care along with keeping notes. I will stay in relaxed state wearing sweat pants and t-shirt throughout the day not worry about doing much unless there is an important errand (dr's visit) that needs to be tended to.
I do make the point of reading through my email if it can be tolerated but instead of using the laptop I use the smartphone. I tend to read less and will not stay online for as long so I actually get a break mentally and emptionally.

(As a friend of mine says) just sit back and watch the air.

Just relax and do what suits you! Get out and go for a walk, sit out in the park / garden and read, relax inside. Listen to music.

Other MyEpilepsyTeam members have shared some really lovely ways they get through tough days too. Here are some ideas that others have found helpful:

- Gentle yoga or stretching — one member found it helped them tune into their body, breathe deeply, and release stress
- Spending time with a pet — a therapy cat or support animal can be incredibly comforting and stress-relieving
- Mindfulness or quiet meditation — just sitting with yourself and being kind to your own struggle
- Light reading or watching something familiar — low-effort but still engaging
- Journaling or tracking how you're feeling — some members find noting their mood and energy helpful

The key theme from others is really just being gentle with yourself on those days. Rest is not wasted time — it's part of managing your health.

One MyEpilepsyTeam member put it beautifully: *"Each strenuous moment is preparing us for that brilliant moment on its way."* 💛
