How do you cope with the guilty and embarrassed feeling associated with asking for rides everywhere?
Even though I ride my bike most times, sometimes I don't feel good, the weather is bad or something. Mostly it's my husband who drives me and I can hear his resistance or annoyance in his voice even if he says yes to giving me rides. Then I get so annoyed myself and emotional and guilty and angry... all the things 🙃. It's a vicous cycle. I don't go out much mainly because there is no where to go in my city/state. Husband takes me to breakfast on his day's off or if I have a doctor's appointment. i have one other person who will take me to a doctor's appointment when mly husband has to work on that day. I give that person money or take them to lunch.
I order everything i need online and have it delivered to my home even food sometimes, like my dinner will be delivered to me tonight.
I don't feel guily or embrassment. I did not drive before I got seizures. People know I never drove or definitely cannot drive now. I get everything I can delivered to my home and only ask for rides to go to doctor appointments.
Adjusted myself to public transportation availability & usually work my plans around them so that loved ones/ friends DON'T make me feel difficult/ harassing for them 🙏🏿🤎
My mom and son are giving me lifts now. I just fill the gas tanks.
