Members responded to a question about whether drugs could be made to last longer in the body, with many expressing how much they would love fewer daily pills, some taking over 20 medications a day. Several members shared helpful options like extended-release medications and Fycompa, a once-daily epilepsy drug that has worked well for some, though one member noted a serious allergic reaction to it. A recurring theme was the hope for continued research, with one member noting that cost is the biggest barrier to developing longer-lasting drug formulas like patches.

I would love to be able to do that. Taking less medication would be wonderful

I believe there doing research on it now. The main issue is is cost in developing it though. They have done some research in patches some meds it works and others it doesn't and to make it work they would basically need to develop a new drug to do the same thing as the old drug just for the patch which is very expensive.

Fycompa is a once a day epilepsy med that as a longer threshold.

That would be great for all those who take a lot, thankfully now I don't so it doesn't matter to me. For others I'm sure that would be great!
