Members responded warmly to a question about Lamotrigine, sharing a wide range of personal experiences with the medication for focal seizures. Several members reported years of success with few or no side effects, while others described challenges like rash, nausea, fatigue, unsteadiness, and in rare cases allergic reactions requiring immediate medical attention. A recurring theme was that responses to Lamotrigine are highly individual, and many encouraged staying in close contact with a neurologist while monitoring for any new symptoms.

Like you Janis, I tried both Clonazepam and Zonnisamide in addition to Lamictal. They were killers. I've been on Lamictal for ten years now with no side effects. I hope it works out for you.

Many, many thanks for all those positive replies. I am massively grateful for the improvement that I've experienced since being on Lamotrigine, and for all the help that you wonderful people have sent me. I wish you all seizure free futures.

I’ve been on Lamictal for 15 years and I can’t complain whatsoever. But it’s always individual. I often get the rare side effects of medications to the point that I’ve been called hypochondriac. But Lamictal has been fine now at 550 mg. It can cause a rash, so it’s something to keep an eye on.

yes. I still do. It works Great! I take 300 mg twice a day! The only side affects I ever had were tremors in my hands. That went away a long time ago!
