I was on Dilantin combined with Zarontin from my teens to my mid to late 20's. I believe it was 150 mg 2x a day. I became toxic one time and was walking like a drunken sailor. No balance. Dosage was reduced until I went back to therapeutic range. IMHO, stress can play a role in how well your body metabolizes the medication.

I took Dilantin and Zarontin throughout my teens and came off of them when I hit childbearing age. Those were the best years!

I just re read some of my post, It actually went up to 58, but then just a couple hours later it was down to 54.3 which seems like a pretty quick drop since it took 5 days without taking my meds to get down to 17.5. I've only taken Dilantin and once was accompanied with diazepam years ago.
