Is lavender tea good for epilepsy and seizures?

every person reacts differently to lavendar tea. I suggest before you try it to further research it. If you are someone that has frequent seizures this may not be something to use. I am just speaking on my own experience drinking herbal teas and not having issues with a majority of them.

The only teas I have had an issue with was green tea and licorice. I discovered I can drink licorice tea once then after the first cup it stops as the herb has something in it. As for green tea, my stomach doesn't do well with it so I don't drink it as frequently as the others I tend to focus on.

I discovered a Ginger and Honey tea by Twinnings that is quite nice. I've been taking advantage of that quite frequently. I found another by Twinnings that is Chamomile, Honey, and Vanilla which is a very nice to have for the evening. Another I came across from Twinnings is Raspberry and Pomegranate which I just began making iced. Since none of the above have caffeine they are all herbal which is just wonderful to have.
I suggest trying them all and finding the best that works for your needs as an evening relaxing drink as I actually go between two - the Chamomile, Honey and Vanilla or the Ginger and Honey as both are quite relaxing to me.

If you do a search for 'lavender epilepsy' you'll see that it can be both epileptogenic or therapeutic, depending on the type. Honestly I haven't studied it but the info is available. Be sure to search which herbs might interact with your specific meds.  I am on Lamictal, and there are 3 that I should not use.Sent from AOL on Android

What are community experiences with lavender tea for epilepsy and seizures?

While lavender tea is a popular herbal remedy that many people explore for relaxation, there isn't specific community data from MyEpilepsyTeam members about lavender tea experiences to share here.

What is worth knowing is that herbal supplements and natural remedies can sometimes interact with anti-seizure medications, which is an important caution to keep in mind.

Some complementary approaches that people with epilepsy have explored include:

- Herbal or nutritional supplements
- Melatonin
- Acupuncture
- Meditation and mindfulness
- Medical cannabis

Always speak with your doctor before adding any herbal tea or supplement to your routine. Even natural remedies can affect how your medications work or potentially influence your seizure threshold.
