Members responded to a question about neck tension and stiffness after seizures, with many sharing that they only feel the pain or stiffness once the seizure is over. Several members described serious injuries during seizures without feeling any pain in the moment, and one member shared that their epileptologist recommended an occipital nerve block to help relieve pressure caused by nerve tension from repeated seizures. A recurring theme was the frightening and frustrating reality of not knowing what happens during a seizure until it's over.

That's scary, Be careful. Having seizures in general is a real pain and frustrating to deal with.

Yes I have had those types of seizures. I would come out of it feeling as if I slept wrong.

I didn’t feel any pain when I rode my bike into the barbed wire fence. So if you didn’t feel anything riding into the rose bush it most likely was seizure related.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member that reminds me of when I was a kid and rode my bike straight into a rosebush. Looking back I wonder if it was seizure related
