Members came together to share their experiences with lacosamide after someone asked about its side effects, with dizziness, nausea, and bowel issues being widely recognized. Several members offered practical tips that helped them manage, including always eating before taking the medication, splitting doses between morning and night, and giving the body a few months to adjust. A recurring theme was that while side effects can be tough at first, many found the medication effective over time, and everyone encouraged talking openly with a doctor if symptoms felt unmanageable.

Yes . Kind of but I have to eat something before I take it or I get very dizzy. I’m also on a couple of more meds so the combination probably doesn’t help. Make sure you eat and if you feel dizzy lie down. As you know tell your doctor. Take care

I'm convinced they (doctors) are clueless. I"m on 200mg twice daily plus another drug at night. Yes I've been almost fall down dizzy for a few seconds and have have had short episodes of #1 and #2 in my pants but my diet is terrible so I blamed that until reading your post since my feelings in the past were I can't blame everything that goes wrong in my life on this evil disease but you know what ? Yes I can because it has 100% changed, displaced, ruined my life or at least the life I worked 57 years to build in order to live the next 25 in lavish free manor which has been ripped away starting with my new motorcycle which I had to sell. That's enough for today since I'm getting pissed.

New medication affects each body differently. Make sure you tell your doctor everything. The side effects maybe new compared to the trials, and you may have to end it, if it’s effecting your organs severely. TELL YOUR DOCTOR EVERYTHING

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member It takes a big girl to admit to pooping on herself, but I did too when I started taking it. I've been on it for a year or so after Trileptal, Keppra, and Dilantin didn't do much. It does make me a little sleepy sometimes but other than that, it has been excellent. I was having seizures more than once a week. Now, I can go months without issue. I can count maybe three or four this year.

It does make you dizzy and nauseous. I’ve been on it for 8 years. My suggestion is take it with food. I take it before I go to bed and in the morning. I don’t really like it but I’ve tried everything and not about to try anything else. Good luck. Hope you feel better
