LoriHobgoodLewis, I have learned that family isn't much different than strangers when it comes to understanding what you're truly going through unless they're special people!!!!! Don't stress yourself over dealing with family and find people within your community that will be a better source.
My family or people are those that understand the brain and the difficulties one goes through. For instance I've volunteered for Alzheimer's for 12 years and the folks that work there treat me like family and will bend over backwards to help me, because they understand the brain and have witnessed me have several seizures. Where my sister suggested after seeing one seizure and had to pick me up from the ER later that I euthanize myself. As you may imagine we haven't spoken again since May 2018 and I didn't overreact.
Finding beautiful people in your community that understand you, without the stress is best. Always remember you're not alone on this journey
