up . The other morning I fell back asleep on the couch not long after I had gotten up. That happened several occasions in the last couple of weeks. My body just isn’t cooperating with me this morning.

Members connected over the struggle of waking up and feeling rested, sharing that this has been a lifelong challenge for many and seems to worsen with age or after hitting milestones like turning 50. Several members pointed to medications, anxiety, depression, nocturnal seizures, and poor sleep quality as possible causes, and recommended talking to a doctor while also checking medication side effects on sites like drugs.com. A recurring theme was finding personal workarounds like adjusting when medications are taken, taking short afternoon naps, meditating, and advocating for yourself with your medical team.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. That’s is true . A lot of my meds that I have all have common side effects. Like feeling Drowsy and Sleepy.
Those I can check off my list.
It’s the other sides had none of the other men’s having in common.

Then I can compare my own experiences to the list of side effects. Then go down the list on what side effects are affecting me

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member The only issue with Drugs.com and all other information websites, is they can only give you an idea of what the side effects are going per medication, and when you're on more than one it can be hard to tell what side effect comes from what med as a lot of them can be the same or very similar.

I take medications for a number of things not just seizures. When I read the side effects on these medications I think that I must be crazy for even taking them. I think most doctors just keep their fingers crossed and just hope you don't die from the interaction of these drugs. It's a wait and let's see attitude with most especially since they say let me know how you feel! I know my meds are helping but I sometimes wonder after reading your posts, depression, fatigue, weakness, anger......all not good! Sorry for my negative post, must be the medication 🙂! I'll still take my medications though, seizures and high blood pressure are bad alternatives.

Hi Randy. It’s Joanne. How have you been? Some medications that I have are really helpful, so that makes me feel less stressed. However, I’m just not too crazy about the side effects. My biggest side effect is feeling very tired, so I always take a daily one hour afternoon nap that the doctor suggests. Another helpful activity that I do is meditate…what activities does everyone else do? Take care and GOD bless everyone. -Joanne

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , forget those Drug side effect sheets..

I throw those away. I look up medication on a website. It shows all side effect from common to least common side effects.

www.drugs.com
That’s where I go, if I have any questions about medications
