There’s the type of med, the amount you’re taking - and when you do so. You could change the time you take your medication. Maybe earlier. Or be sure to consume it along with a meal.
I'm currently dealing with something similar since the Rx changed generic brands of my Lamotrigine.
Rhondaschnee I raid down an hr. earlier than the night before and was still up earlier than I wanted to be. My chihuahua I have Sammy he knows who dose his morning walks. It I try to in the morning he’ll immediately sit down and look at me like you’re not the one that hates me normally takes me out in the morning why are doing it now? Actually he’s adamant about several things, but that’s one of his big ones though.. is little buddies the same way Sadie is smaller than him, but she’s very adamant as well and she’s also a Chihuahuas too.
I laid down around 11 last night and had a hell of a time going to sleep. I ended up getting up at 4:30 this morning and was wide awake yesterday. For instance I was up at seven. Slept the whole night but I had a hell of a time waking up so go figure. I don’t know if it’s not one thing it’s another anymore. I got up in the middle of the night took a hot shower cause my spine was bothering me last night in thoracic area that was around a little after 12 I think. to be honest, the dog slept better than I did.

I always have to eat something before I take my medicine or I am out of it. Even if I’m not hungry I have 2 spoons of yogurt.
