Hi Vickie. We’re on the same page because the epileptologist I had was for five years and he taught me so much.. I got sad because he retired, but it is what it is. I have a new epileptologist, so I’m still getting used to how she helps out. I just feel very blessed to have an epileptologist because there are not many out there. In order to continue helping myself, I love to research which makes me feel happy and proud of myself to continue learning!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, Knowing that can be a pain from my earlier days. Do hope you'll be able to find a better 1 soon.
If you move, it is hard to find a new doctor where you move to. We are short in doctors in BC so you are lucky if you can find one where you move to. I moved at least 5 times and I didn't have a doctor in 5 moves until I finally got a doctor in 2019 but she was not good. She said my Osteoporosis is not that bad and would not help me, so I always went on the internet for answers until I got my new Good doctor last year 2025. It wasn't until I fell 2 years ago on a concrete overpass and hurt my right hand. It still hurt so when I went to my new doctor and told him my right finger is still sore from the fall, he sent me for an x-ray and that showed up that my hand bones were thin. Since then I have been on the pill for Osteoporosis. He make sure I am taking it. When I am low, I just tell him my pills are low and he sends a refill in to the pharmacy. He is very very good.
You just cannot trust all doctors, and the recent old doctor was a Female - that is not a good thing to hear about a female doctor.
I hope you all find an epileptologist soon because there are not many in California. We need their advice as soon as possible so we can get better and live happen again.
