Any experience w this or any anxiety med causing or making seizures worse??? NO DOCS, HOSPITALS, OR PHARMACISTS NOBODY EVER MENTIONED THIS HAD TO ASK ABOUT IT MYSELF!!! Almost every drug has these side effects but really??? Nobody thought to take me off of this?
I highly suggest speaking to your local pharmacist as they can provide better information to you on this medication including what if any side effects there are to be concerned of.
It lowers your seizure threshold. I take 3mg Doxepin for insomnia, but the higher dose is for depression/anxiety. My neurologist pointed it out and won’t let me take a higher dose. You can switch to an SSRI which you should be OK on.
Thank you for that info I have taken SSRI’s before and may try them
before thank you how is that working out for sleep for you and how long have you been on it?

My point is as usual I am figuring out most of my own care instead of the doctors other than the writing prescriptions
I have to tell them what works and what does not and do all my own research.
Grateful for this new Neuro at least he listens and is kind not just pushing pills and his own way of thinking.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member There a few different things to consider. The seizure risk that they are talking about is due to a high-risk side effect linked with the med not the epilepsy itself so there's no direct link. If there's was it would say something like "high risk of seizures in people with epilepsy". These seizures are mainly due to a really bad reaction and if it happens, they will take you off it. It's basically a medical emergency. The seizure you get with epilepsy when the person is diagnosed would play out more expected and in most cases a a more controlled way.
In summing up at the end of the day it really comes down to what else you're already on. This is where the drs and pharmacists can have disagreements and that's not great. That's where the computerised side effect screener comes into play.
