Has anyone experienced worsening blood pressure that doesn't return to normal after repeated seizures, and did you see a cardiologist?
Seizures can affect heart function and blood pressure during and after they occur. Researchers believe problems with the heart during or after a seizure may be involved in some serious complications of epilepsy.
If you're experiencing persistent blood pressure issues after seizures, it's important to talk with your healthcare team about this. They can help determine if you need to see a cardiologist or if adjustments to your seizure management plan might help.
Your neurologist and primary care doctor should be aware of these blood pressure changes, as they may want to monitor your cardiovascular health more closely. Some people with epilepsy do benefit from seeing a cardiologist, especially when heart-related symptoms persist between seizures.
Have you noticed any patterns with when your blood pressure stays elevated, or does it happen after every seizure?
