One of the anticonvulsants I take to control seizures is Phenobarbital in conjunction with Vimpat (Lacosamide) and there currently is a supply shortage of Phenobarbital until approximately March this year

Members rallied around a community member facing a Phenobarbital shortage in Australia, offering encouragement and practical advice about navigating medication supply issues. Several members shared their own experiences with anticonvulsant shortages and substitutions, suggesting contacting a specialist urgently, asking about generic options, and reaching out to doctors directly for emergency supplies. A recurring theme was the importance of being firm and persistent with medical teams when facing a shortage, treating it as the urgent matter it truly is.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Are you doing this Public or Private? Its just that if its private then you would need to contact whoever the firm is the Neurologist works through, but if its public it may be a lot harder. If you have a contact of a ESN that works with the Neurologist then that may work but other then that it can be a pain to contact them in the public system. Hopefully they flag it as a urgent issue.

Good luck. This is a matter of urgency and the doctor must sort also. Be firm.

Really?? Can you not get the generic? This happened a few years ago with Tegretol just after I came off it.
