Does anyone know if the Tdap vaccination for diphtheria and tetanus is supposed to increase the seizure risk activity? My primary doctor told me to get certain shots done but I don't think she read up on my history or paid attention to my medical history. I read online on a doctor's website that the tdap vaccination may increase the seizure risk activity. If they tell you to get something done every 10 years such as a shot (vaccination), then why tell a patient/person to get something like it… read more
When reading the Consent form about the Covid Vaccine, they ask if you have had seizures, I think they my mean as a result of takig one. If I could not have vaccines due to my Epilepsy, that would be werious.
Not that I know of. You could argue that with any vaccine this does in the first few hrs but the way vaccines work they are only at their peak the first 1-2 days then the body takes it on and it should work as it should. I'm other words technically you're sick for 1-2 days then your body fights it.

I have had the tetanus part of the vaccine about every other year for the last 20 years with no problems. I plan to get the Tdap the next time I am at the doctor's office. If you have concerns, you should have an honest conversation with your doctor face-to-face. If you start to read drug inserts that come with your medication, just about every one of them lists seizures as a side effect. Even some of the anticonvulsants list seizures as a side effect. I have also traveled a lot and have been vaccinated a lot, even for rabies, and I have not had any problems, except some of them made me very sore.
I used not to get vaccines. It was my parents belief. I had the measles, chickenpox, etc. when I went to college I took my shots. No problems! I had no problems! Each person is different!
