Yes that’s what basically happened to me. It seems like the new phones are not as reliable as the old ones. But I’m sure glad that we have them.

I don't replace my phone till it's necessary due to hacks and scams when you transfer data , cause I have online banking etc.

I've never owned a cell phone. Never had a need for one. the wife recently got a new smart phone. she had her old one about 5 years. the battery was getting weak. she got the same brand but an updated model.

I insure my phones like crazy. I’ve got 3 different types of insurance on it. Screen and battery, water and everything else that they offer. Like lose or theft; and I have Norton 360. The longest I kept the same phone was 12 years, but u couldn’t unplug it or the battery died. The next one I kept for the 6 years and I’ll see how long this one lasts as the case isn’t as good or strong.

When I get a new phone, I get insurance on my phone in case it is lost or something goes wrong with it. I usually keep my phone for 3 or 4 years. If I get an Upgrade and I save the Money, and it's not too expensive, Sometimes, I will get a new phone. I think the phone I have now I have had about 3 years now.
