Can overdoses of levetiracetam and lamotrigine affect behavior in someone with epilepsy, causing behavioral problems?

Yes, both medications can affect behavior, even at normal doses. Levetiracetam is known to cause behavioral side effects including:

* Aggression
* Anxiety
* Mood changes
* Irritability
* Anger
* Depression

An overdose could potentially intensify these behavioral effects. One MyEpilepsyTeam member experienced significant improvement in side effects by reducing their lamotrigine dose from 200mg to 175mg, noting better management of symptoms like head jerking, balance issues, and memory problems.

If you're experiencing behavioral changes or suspect an overdose, it's crucial to contact your doctor or seek emergency medical care immediately. Your healthcare team can adjust dosing or explore alternative treatment options to minimize behavioral side effects while maintaining seizure control.

Never adjust medication doses on your own, as this could affect seizure control and cause other complications.

Good post and? I agree with the ai mentioned about it, I would suggest getting people's opinions here which is ok with that and then go to the medical system or doc about the post here and go from there about it and good luck with the outcome with it, my opinion
