I don't live by a bus line. Two cities I called to see what options they had and the administrators told me not to move there. I'm currently unemployed and looking to move away from the metro area and I don't want someone to bring me everyday to work or ask people to take PTO to bring me to a Dr appointment. People would get so upset with me.
I walked to the bus route and used cab late at nite. In Maryland I lived in the boonies I used Metro Access and they were $5.00 a ride. I had a cab driver if I needed a ride. My neighbors also helped. Now living in California , I use neighbors and my husband. Their transportation system really not that good. I wish you the best!
Having neighbors who are willing to help out is wonderful. I have to overcome my reluctance to ask for help. Most people are so willing to help out.
Thankfully I can work from home since I cannot drive. I was able to locate a company that could help me out.
Luckily I had a neighbor who would drive me into work for top shelf bottles of bourbon. I was only working part time. It worked out great because I would always get a very small taste of the bourbon.
Do you live in the Twin Cities Kris?
When I lived in the cities ( Twin Cities ) I would get to work by city transportations , friend or family ( who is willing ) , my Mt.Bike and if it really close I would walk.
I have had times where I didn’t live close to the MTC bus stops. But my county had a bus program, where I could call to pick me up to take my to my job if it’s located in my county.
If I knew I was going to go outside of my county, I would get a hold of the MN, ‘ Metro Mobility “ to take me to those other suburbs of Minneapolis and St Paul .
The Taxi usually Green Taxi
(. Suburb Taxi, I think ) ,if it’s still the cheapest, was my last resort for choices.
Today there is the city Train transits and Uber and 1or2 other transportations like Uber. They weren’t around yet for me.
