Glad it came about to you despite the medical situation and condition you have? I personally do, even though I didn't want the medical situation and condition I have to this day, but am thankful for it In a way because I found out things I didn't know about till after my condition I have in my life with, I hope that they eventually develope a cure for but I am ok with what I have learned from the situation and condition I have, nothing negative with the post I'm posting on the post here, but my… read more
It's hard to believe my not being sorry I have it. I wouldn't have experienced how my life has been. I've learned a lot through the years since I've got it. Some hasn't been the greatest and some have. 1 thing especially since I did continue to live is appreciating life, probably would've happened as I got older if didn't have it. Since did though I started enjoying life at a younger age, even when seizures were more severe.
Appreciate the post but maybe growth isn't such a good choice of words here. I've accepted my condition and have learned to live with it. I do prioritize more and do keep lists more because I forget things. I might be a little better organized because I have to be to function. I would have to think pretty hard to see any ways I have "benefited" from my condition. I do try to see other people's perspectives more often but I attribute this to getting older and wiser. I do appreciate this myepilepsyteam.com site because it's made me think more and given me some answers that I don't get from my neurologist. It also raises issues I've never thought about. I also like being part of a team, always have and I do appreciate Dave because he makes me think through his thoughtful questions, plus I like everyone's responses. But as for benefiting from epilepsy in any way, don't think so. At least not now anyway.
Question: How has living with epilepsy helped you learn more about yourself?
Many people with epilepsy discover unexpected personal growth through their journey. While no one would choose to have seizures, the experience often leads to valuable self-discovery and connection with others who understand the challenges. Members Show Full Answer
