Hi I got started on onfi about 4 months ago and I've realized some personality changes I'm not sure if it's due to the increased stress with waiting for another sEEG for surgery #3 and the life change but I've been very depressed and smaller things that used to not bother me get me angry now. I've heard of keppra rage but never onfi rage guaranteed I am on both but I've never had keppra rage before and I've been on keppra for getting close to 20 years Has anyone else had this happen? Should I… read more

You may want to goto drugs.com and see what it says about onfi. Everyone is different. And meds will not be the same for all.

I've been on both. Keppra since early 2000, and Onfi was added and I don't remember why but I was taken off of it and now have Aptiom & Keppra. But I do have mood swings and have had to start an anxiety and depression med, I'm now in my 50's. I've had 1 brain surgery and have had a VNS placed. What surgeries have you had? If you don't mind my asking.💜

From a quick search it looks like it can have a effect but its hard to say. One thing that can happen if you have just started a new med is it can effect side effects relating to the other one until it all calms down. This is what happened when I first changed meds.

I had taken Onfi in my 20's but it was for a brief time period as the medication was found not to work with the mixture combination needed for managing the type seizures I had taking place at the time.

I had taken Keppra about 10 years ago and it was stopped within two months if not sooner as the "Keppra rage" hit me like a ton of bricks. The personality changes were horrible as I was fine one moment than the next I became someone constantly saying the F word with attitude. I knew something was wrong as I actually went to my husband a few times asking for his help with these changes because it scared me. The best action taken place was speaking with the epilepsy doctor that prescribed me with this Keppra medication then requesting removal because of what was taking place. Once the Keppra was out of my system my mood went back to normalcy and the Keppra rage was gone.
