I'm in Australia. I'm on disability pension. I have many disabilities and a brain tumour. I work part-time (who could afford not to). It's a struggle stress as we know plays a huge part in control. Our centrelink (social security) allows a certain amount then takes 50c in the $ plus what tax takes. Contact your social security they'll help.

I agree with Rusti, checking with the Social Security Office would be the safest way to go. I have heard once ss benefits are disrupted it's quite hard to get them back.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, check with Social Security Income. I am not sure on how you are allowed to use them along with SSI. I think it is just like if you are collecting SSI and working part time. There might be a reduction on your SSI while using Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. With SSI not keeping up with the rising costs, it sounds like a great idea using them. But check with Social Security first. I don't think the laws have been revised since Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin came along.

The Social Security Administration looks at your ability to engage in "substantial gainful activity" when determining continued eligibility.

If you're considering investing in cryptocurrency, you should:
- Report any significant income from crypto trading
- Keep detailed records of transactions
- Consult with a financial advisor familiar with disability benefits
- Inform your disability case worker about investment activities Remember that SSI has strict resource limits, while SSDI focuses more on your ability to work. Trading cryptocurrency could potentially be viewed as work activity depending on how actively you're involved. It's recommended to get professional guidance before starting any investment activities to ensure you don't jeopardize your benefits.
