Fatigue with epilepsy can come from multiple sources: the seizures themselves, medication side effects, and post-seizure recovery (postictal phase). It's important to note that self-reducing medication without medical supervision can be dangerous. If you're experiencing severe fatigue from Keppra, it's essential to discuss this with your neurologist who may be able to adjust your medication or switch to a different anti-seizure medication with fewer side effects. Many people have found ways to manage their fatigue and maintain a more active lifestyle. Some helpful strategies include:
- Morning stretching and walks
- Scheduled 30-60 minute daily naps
- Regular exercise (as approved by your doctor)
- Tracking your fatigue patterns to identify triggers
- Working with your healthcare team to find the right medication balance

Remember that recovery after seizures can take several days, with some people needing up to a week to feel normal again. This is common and normal, but your quality of life can improve with proper medical management.

Have you discussed your fatigue with your doctor? There may be another medication you could take without the side effects. I have had to try several to get the right mix. I currently take lamotrigine and phenobarbital.

There is a lot you can do to help with it given it is Keppra. Like taking B6, making sure you drink plenty of water you may have to do a few other things on top of that but that depends on what's going on and you would need drs advice for that.
