My daughter is 12. Newly diagnosed with Generalized Epilepsy and is terrified of going to school or being around many people. She said people will look at her differently, and some will think she's weird. I've tried my best to comfort her and give a positive response but she will not go back. She has maintained her GPA and is doing her work at home on a schedule.
Genevieve, I was born with Hydrocephalus and had to be operated on at four weeks to have a vp shunt on the right side of my head. I don’t recall having any issues other than being very cautious with everything do to my shunt. It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to get her like a medical either necklace or a little bracelet for hardware. Maybe they’ll give her a little bit of peace of mind. If y’all haven’t done that yet already, but there are some you can find them on Amazon or the one I bought mine from was Lauren’s Hope. They have a good variety on there as far as pendants and what not. They have a good selection though, and they hold up well.

Maybe tell your daughter that if she’s afraid of not having any friends that she definitely won’t meet any friends if she’s homeschooled.

I never faced a sole problem with classmates when I went to school with epilepsy. I started having epilepsy when I was 10 years old and nothing ever changed between my classmates and me. I assume my teachers probably informed the class of what was happening so they understood it was something I couldn’t control. Nobody ever looked at me any differently. So she doesn’t need to be so terrified. I went to a public school from kindergarten to graduation.
It's dif per person, didn't have a prob with me that I knew of, even though I had my condition of epilepsy, my opinion
