As for a cure, I am pretty sure there will never be one. There are so many different kinds of epilepsy.

@Jake994 I agree, tue brain is very complex and much is unknown. I know my hospital is doing new research and at the cusp of development. I think the constant advancements in AI will be associated with new treatments and meds. Im hopeful we see it in our lifetime.

With everyone of the Generations that are still living , I don’t think there will be any true cure for Epilepsy. Maybe a century or more later after my death . Maybe even a Thounsand year after my death

Unfortunately the medical society is not trying to find a cure. They want to keep making money from patients/customers. If they found a cure they’d lose their customers.
We are better off to do our own research and find ways to help ourselves. Pray for the self discipline we need to to avoid what triggers us.

This has been asked a lot. Tbh it's pretty hard to answer because epilepsy is very broad and when you think about how complex the brain is there is still a lot that is not known. In my life time the treatment will probably change a lot (or at least there is a lot of opportunity for this) but I don't think we will see the cure. Thats not saying things won't improve though.
