My son is 11 and scheduled to have a surgical stereo EEG at Stanford on February 14th 2025….How is the recovery and what to expect?

The Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) could help your son. I was only 17 years old when I got mine implanted. I see his SEEG is coming up soon and I pray it turns out successful. Like I said it wasn’t painful for me, it just felt like a bunch of weight on my head. He’ll have to wear button up shirts for a little while.

While having the SEEG my mom told me that at one point I started to have a seizure so she pressed the button for doctors and nurses. The doctors asked her “How do you know he’s having a seizure?” My mom was like “I’ve been watching him have seizures for years” 🙄. Actually I was 26 when I had the SEEG I was 17 when I got the Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS).
