Yeah I understand I had to go to the ER cause I ended up with the stroke I felt the worst I've ever felt in my life for a few days it was so messed up... Now have to go get a cat scan and much more!!! Been on oxcarbazepine and lamotrigine for years and it just all started!!! Either way was still having dangerous seizures, So we'll see how this stuff does!!!

Please don't speak to me like that, and you are 100% wrong!!! Those side effects of that damn stroke that the oxcarbazepine caused were 100 times worse than a seizures!!! And I'm not just saying that why don't you ask the people that saw me for 3 days, and Drs and nurses that helped me out after 3 days!!! So yes sorry for asking a question now I know not to do that on here bye!!!

I'm on lacosamide 100mg 2x a day. Been about 2yrs and i still feel side effects if I'm off jst couple hours off usual time. At first I found it gave me a "drunk" feeling. I was off balance along with double vision and nystagmus. My body adjusted after a few mths. Those feelings still come back every once in a while. Mind you its a great drug at controlling seizures.

I've been on vimpat for a few months now and I haven't found it makes me feel high or anything. I actually feel much better being on vimpat and a lower dose of tegretol than being on a high dose of tegretol on its own. I much prefer vimpat. I had to be put on sodium tablets and I was nearly hospitalised because tegretol made my sodium levels go so low. I felt dreadful.

Vimpat (lacosamide) can cause some people to feel dizzy, drowsy, or "high" when they first start taking it or increase the dose. These side effects often improve over time as your body adjusts to the medication. It's important to take Vimpat exactly as prescribed and talk to your doctor about any side effects you experience. Having a low sodium level from a previous medication can increase seizure risk. Be sure to monitor your sodium levels regularly while taking Vimpat. Staying well hydrated, getting enough salt in your diet, and taking sodium supplements if prescribed by your doctor can help prevent low sodium.
