I had a lot of left intermittent rhythmic delta activity (TIRDA). that hasn't been used before in other doctor appointments I've had.

I could be wrong, but it could be (seizure activity) in the temporal region.

EEG = Electro EncephaloGram. Translation, a doctor, usually a neurologist, has a nurse put paste, then wires all over your head. Paste is to keep wires in one place during the test. The wires measure a person's brain waves to see if any seizure(s) occur. During the test they' willusually have you look at a series of flashing lights( different patterns, speed(s) of flashes, etc... ) hoping to trigger a seizure. Thankfully now those wires are inside a " cap" a person wears for 24 hours to see brain wave patterns throughout a typical day. Then return it the next day. May take couple weeks for results, while they read & analyze the result(s) of the test the previous day.

If you had IRDA. They are going to check blood tests, Your last CAT or MRI. Check any other tests you have been given. What procedures you have had in past. Discuss options on what can be done. Some patients it’s like a signature. It will be normal . Each patient has a signature. When I was getting my training. One person had no symptomology but was learning EEG work. Her test was abn but had no symptomology. If she complained about symptomology. It would be clearly looked into. That is example! Each case is different. One EEG will be different with each case. They are looking into causes and what can help you control your sz activity.

I have that, too. They finally saw it on my 5 day home EEG.

For me when I have a EEG it does not show on the monitors. I have partial seizures so I'm usually there for days when I have a EEG .
