Tell him its vital to have meds vs having awful seizures. Tell him bout Einstein,Michelangelo,Nobel, Dickens, Poe and other geniuses who had seizures but no idea why. Tell him to join the club. Big diff is they had no idea why but we do with meds to help.I'm sure he hated that crazy feeling once got too. Any bad sides that linger Dr changes meds. Make sure Dr is aware of any. Relax his mind by knowing none will hurt his brain either My Mom did all for me over 50years ago no seizure scared me once I knew epilepsy is just a physical condition like diabetes as well.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, He has to try to find out what are the side effects of the medication. I take Trileptal also and i don't have anxiety. So, it may be another medication causing it. The bad taste from his mouth sounds like nausea which can be solved by taking Trileptal with a meal or a snack. Because the neurologist is only concerned with has your son had a seizure lately? If not, the neurologist will consider things are ok. Other meds suggestion will depend on the type of seizures he has. The doctor can suggest another drug, but it will take about 4 to 6 weeks to ween from one med while beginning to take another. So, the body will take time for the adjustment. Try to convince to your son that not taking your meds will result in a bad experience.

Dawn , when your Son starts taking the Keppra , keep an eye on his behavior or emotions, it’s possible that they may change to negative ( behavior / emotions ) .

Many of us call Keppra the Rage Medication/Drug

Dr prescribed him Keppra. So after several discussions over side effects and how he feels she decided Keppra was the next thing to try. We will see what happens now. Thank for the responses.

Only his Dr. Can change and knows what brand is best . Talk to the Dr. And let him/her know what your son is experiencing.
