She has been trying to make sense of it for 4 year's now.
Hang in there and try and stay pos

It’s good that you try to keep her self esteem up. I’ve suffered depression my whole life. I’m sorry to say I’ve never been able to drive but hopefully her seizures will be under control some day. You’re doing good on keeping her hopes up. You can ask any question on this site and get several responses. I too have been through the very same situation.
Definitwlynlooknintonthe hormone changes and time of month. Temperature ups and downs and being young getting used to the female aspect of things. Small things add up. Depression with teenagers is terribly high now I think with my kids it was growing up in high-school during covid. I pushed my oldest son to be more active it helps with built up energy and stress as a positive outlet. Hobbies and socializing! Being Youngs rough and with the diagnosis it's hard to accept I barely accepted mine was permanent a few years ago. Mine would come and go but was usually induced by hormone changes and pregnancy. With my daughter it never went away. It's been 14 years. I drive, work, etc and as you grow in the diagnosis you adapt to changes and what your comfortable doing.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Only a neurologist can answer these questions. If she is a while off driving then she has a high chance of being ok because there is more time to get everything under control. As for work, she should be fine some jobs won't be recommended though. But again for the best advice, you should ask the treating specialist. They will have the best information.
The doctors have done EEG test, numerous medications, now sleep studies. She has staring spells, passes out if she doesn't get enough sleep. Weight gain, highs and lows with depression. Has no more confidence or self esteem. I ask every question I can think of with the doctors. They say it's possible she may grow out of it. It hasn't gotten any easier for her and now 4 years later she wants to know if she can drive, work, when she's older. I always tell her you can do anything you want to do or like anyone else does. But really I really don't know. I just give her as much love as a parent can and hoping for the best.
