Been in a skilled nursing facility and noticed the staff never gave me my night antiseizure meds!
It really depends on your exact situation. Some people missing one dosage has hardly any effect while others missing one dosage will more than likely trigger a seizure but either way once you do miss one the risk of one happening jumps up by alot.
Yes . We are all different on how soon a later the seizures(s) will hit, when not taking the schedule meds.
Were you allowed to check yourself out? Or did you have a family member there to pick you up? The point is that you have a right to a copy of all medical records on you, thus you can request a copy of the medical records from when you were in this facility. It is more helpful if you were picked up by someone who is not epileptic and this person can accompany you to request the records. Otherwise, I don't know what kind of help that the Epilepsy Foundation of your state offers. I have been hearing from some friends on here that their state or regions Epilepsy Foundation does not offer advocacy but simply focuses on fun raising. And I don't know what level of help that the national office of the Epilepsy Foundation will offer, but it will not hurt to call their toll-free number for help and tell the person who answers what you told us. And wait to see if someone calls you back in whatever amount of time that this person tells you someone will call.

I have not been in contact with anyone from the Epilepsy Foundation of New England in 7 years, but I have been on their site more recently. And they were there for me when I needed help -- with the last time being 2016.
Yes, missing a dosage can cause a seizure. I'd talk to the facility director to make sure you have a regular medication schedule. Stress to them how important it is to be on a regular dosage schedule.
