My neurologist had me start hydroxyzine awhile ago for insomnia. It didn't touch me so he upped the dose. Still didn't do anything. So I told him I wanted off of it. He wasn't concerned with the insomnia anymore so I have a new neurologist months later. My patience is thin with neuro anymore.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I hope that you mean that anxiety is at a stable level. We never want anxiety to be completely gone because we need it to inspire us to make the decision to fight or flight in dangerous situations. And anxiety is absolutely interconnected (along with stress, depression and sleep deprivation) with epilepsy and frequency of the seizures.
Not for me.
I was prescribed Clonazepam for anxiety. I was referred to a psychiatrist because of anxiety and he told me my anxiety was related to my epilepsy. My neurologist added Clonazepam to my treatment and anxiety is gone.
No. It is for the purpose that Mary mentioned. Here is a link explaining the details about Hydroxyzine: https://www.drugs.com/hydroxyzine.html
