How do you act during this time?

I do what ever it takes to stay calm, and try taking it one thought at a time. My mind is always rushing anyways due to a higher IQ, but add in the post-ictal confusion and I'm like a super computer locked up inside a tiny calculator and my thoughts become overwhelming. I will take a Valium and drink some water, turn on some comforting jazz or soul music, and take a hit of cannabis as SOON as I can. It always releases that "what should I do next" feeling and calms my wandering mind. It returns my cognitive thinking capabilities promptly as well.

In addition to the music and marry jane, I will lay my mat out and practice some mindful yoga to work all those muscle kinks & cramps out. Then if I feel awake enough I will grab my favorite book and read a few pages to get my mind back on track after it's major derailment. I find that with epilepsy, exercising the mind & brain is just as important as relaxing it. Especially when it comes to seizure recovery!

Thanks, the wandering strikes a cord. My husband wanders up and down the stairs numerous times as though looking for something and when he eventually settles is very tired and unable to complete even the simplest of tasks independently. Just wondered if this was usual?

I come in and out on conscience for quite a while. People tell me things, but I forget. Too tired to do any wandering. For me, would not try anything for the next 24 hours.

I once crossed a busy intersection while it happened, and snapped out of it after the fact. Scared the hell out of me! The first time it happened to me, I'd went outside late at night, in my dang underwear, to check out a weather phenomenon I saw out my window (it's called Ball Lightning.) And then I woke up in my backyard. Seems to me that when it does happen to me I just go on about my day.

I can't speak for anyone else, but this is very normal for me.
