I keep gaining weight and it's very hard to lose it. I'm currently only on Keppra and even though my appetite is reduce, it's very easy to gain weight. I work out but have serious issues sleeping profoundly.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member excess weight gain or weight loss is a well-known side effect of some meds. It's generally picked up pretty quickly if it is confirmed as a side effect as the wait changes will happen pretty quickly.

Thank you all for your replies. I will consider everything. I think it has been a mix of bad sleep and eating at different times. Hope fixing that will help me. Best regards to all!

Hi, it's great you workout. But is some form of aerobic work part of your routine? If okay with your doctor, even a daily walk on a treadmill in air condition should help reduce weight. I don't have weight problems, for as you, I workout.

Hi my name is natz & I gain weight a lot & over the last few months I have been on slim fast & this helped take the weight off me & I was 15 in weight when I started and know I lost 5lb before I went on holiday then put it bk on while on holiday then I have lost a it quite quickly when I had come bk on slim fast . On Sunday morning I weighed myself & I do that every other Sunday on the wii fit & I lost 4lb, so why don’t u try the slim fast , u have the 2x a day one for breakfast & one for lunch or dinner/tea then u have a proper meal for lunch or dinner/tea but it’s up to u if u want to try it I am not forcing u to do that .

If you have problems with sleeping, you may want to consider getting checked for sleep apnea. They may need to give you treatment for that. I previously took Keppra and no longer need it since I now sleep with a CPAP machine which is very helpful. 👍❤️🙏
