Hmmm when I was diagnosed with epilepsy at first I had an idea of what epilepsy was (but wasn’t too educated about it). It was really weird to be diagnosed with epilepsy because I had never met anyone who had it. I did not really know how to deal with epilepsy the first few years because I think it was just a shock to me. I was experiencing seizures and going to medical appointments. I think knowing what triggers your seizures helps you deal with epilepsy and being around a supportive group.
First, except what you have cause there is currently no cure. Second, find a good neurologist/epidemiologist that will help you control your seizures. Realize that it is time to manage your own normal life.

We all cope at differently. Some of us clearness coping growing up with it. Some may go through denial. Some will struggle with depression, anxiety, stress and can’t figure out how to cope.
