Because I’ve heard of epileptic people being cured before by using exorcism.

This is absurd, It’s unbelievable that some people still think that we are all possessed, how come we take medication to control epilepsy, maybe it puts all this creatures to sleep!! 😁

Unfortunately there’s no cure for epilepsy, you aren’t possessed you have epilepsy. I start suffering from epilepsy after a left parasital brain tumor, I have frontal epilepsy, do you believe that I got possessed before or after the tumor 🙂 I’m catholic many many..:. manyyyy years ago they thought that it was something evil but it’s just another disease. Take care 💜

Epilepsy is scientifically known to be too much electricity in the brain. When the electricity builds up and goes off it will control whatever part of the body it cut loose in. I know not all people know this and understand the whole issue. So the turn back to the old Legends like being possessed or evil spirits. I was kicked out of a Catholic school as a kid.

As a Christian and someone with Epilepsy, I have never associated this condition with demon possession (so to speak). So I can fully understand the question. This incident of 'epilepsy' being classed as demon possessed.. is rather over used by those Christians who major on the notion that everything that happens as a Spiritual connection (when in reality it is not). The language used is Greek, so meanings is different from our understanding in the English. We need to be careful in its use. Remember, this passage is not about 'seizures', but a lesson of faith for the disciples. There is a mingling of 'Spiritual and natural' in the Biblical world... Jesus discerns that there is something beyond this 'boy's' situation (if you read it properly), it is actually piece of 'a stunt' (Epilepsy is not a stunt).. As you read it even more.. you need to remember not to read something into it or out of it, that is not there. As I said previously, not everything in this world is to be solely associated with demons.. and if that is happening.. then it is being totally wrong and overplayed.

People with epilepsy were considered possessed in the Dark and Middle Ages, but with the advent of doctors and modern medicine, those myths were challenged and dismissed. No, there is no spiritual cure for epilepsy! It is a neurological condition!!
