We all can agree that our drs weigh the risk vs reward in regards to the efficacy of our meds.During the first 2wks is when you would experience the adverse side effects- suicidal ideation, low sodium, dermal necrosis. Make sure you insist on a CBC panel prior to and in the wks after you start. They will have a baseline to compare future tests & make sure you fast before the baseline test. All of our meds have side effects but you don't want to experience the adverse effects. Your doctor will start you on a low dose and possibly increase it if it is monotherapy.
As for nice statements it is obvious that Terry is just through a tough time.
Bottom line- we all wish you luck and please know that everyone has different reactions to chemical substances.

I’m taking 200 mg at night of the Xcopri and KeppraXR, Clonazepam and TopamaxXR all twice daily. All different doses of them. Once I got on the Xcopri, it seems that my Neurologist has lowered some of my other meds and I’m doing very well now. I think it is finally has become the med that is finally helping. I’ve been on Keppra, now KeppraXR, for over 22 years and he’s even lowered that dosage. I’m going days without feeling any auras or seizures. It’s been months since I’ve ever had this. So, I believe Xcopri is a great medicine. Just don’t get too high of a dose. I accidentally was taking double, or more, of the amount because it was the same color of the KeppraXR in a higher dosage pill and in my weekly pill case had got it mixed up. I was walking and talking like I was drunk. I ended up getting taken to the ER by a friend of mine because he was so worried that something really bad had happened and he wasn’t sure what. So, I would still try it, but be careful on how much and not OD on it. Good luck!

I have been on a Xcopri for about 6 months now, the only side effects I had where headaches. I too was on Briviact but my insurance cut it. I've only had a few mild myoclonic seizures.
Xcopri is given at first in a low dose, which I liked, that way the body can get used to it. So far it's the best seizure med I've been on. Hope this helps!

I have been Xcopri for a while. I certainly helps with my seizures but I can only take this med at night. I causes too many problems dizziness. My doctor stopped me at 100mg. Good luck!
