I take it 2 times per day; 50mg in the morning and 100mg at night. I do have the side effect of drowsy/tiredness (which is rare for me with the other meds i have taken), hence a smaller dose in the morning.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I’ve been taking Vimpat since November 2019. I take 100mg 1 pill twice a day. One my Neurologist tried increasing the dosage but it made my fingers shake & so even though my blood work shows it’s below normal I can’t take more than this dosage or my fingers will shake. I would probably not be the best one to on talking about Vimpat. Only because I had a very bad experience with it. I didn’t even last a month, to the full dosage with it.

My experience had to deal with trouble balancing and my mind was very foggy. I just couldn’t think clearly. I ended up feeling severely overdosed and couldn’t walk. I had to crawl to my bed and also experienced Vertigo ( felt like my room was spinning very fast ).

My wife called a nurse hotline for advice and was told to go back on the medication, I was using before Vimpat and get a hold of my Dr.

My experience doesn’t mean, That you will go through the same, as I did.
