Marijuana
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I spoke to my Dr. over the phone about trying marijuana for my epilepsy, and she said that if I did I would have to be weaned off of my medication..is this true?

I've been taking CBD oil in the morning with my coffee and I have marijuana at night am still on my 3 anti-eleptic meds while taking it and I take my meds in the day and at night I won't take them together ill leave a 2 hour window in between and I've had no problems. I do have primarily nocturnal seizures when am sleeping and when I take my naps in the afternoon I know because I keep a sleep journal and ill take it to relax and chill out and just keep the stress and everything away. I've never had anyone tell me of have to be weaned or taken off my meds to take or start taking marijuana am on 3 meds brivact and on if I and topomax and have never had any problems or issues with it. My best Nero visit was when I started taking marijuana with my meds this is my experience always remember to do your own research and keep up with current issues and work with your doctor and nero.
