Stay close with your neurologist and look for strange signs like twitching or random things like hiccups that won’t go away. Write down all strange things even if they seem normal. You can always ask the neuro.

These are some of the things to be aware of, when pregnant and Epilepsy.

Careful of what meds your on. Make sure Dr. Knows and can put you on a safer AED med.

Take vitamins supplements along with Folic Acid. Selenium and Zinc also have benefits.
15-30 of Preg. Women experience increase in seizures. Most often in first or third trimester .

Get advice from Neurologist about the many things that could cause or trigger
Seizures while preg. What seizures are risky and what seizures are less risky .

CAN BABIES INHERIT EPILEPSY?
Less than 2 out of a 100 people may develope Epilepsy sometime in their life. The risk of the father with Epilepsy has a slightly higher risk of inheriting Epilepsy. The mother with Epilepsy has less than 5 people out of a 100, can inherit Epilepsy. If both parents have Epilepsy, has a bit higher risk of some type of epilepsy. It is still important to find the actual fact on a child inheriting Epilepsy from parents.

Congrats!! I've had 2 kids and each pregnancy was very different. I would recommend waiting until the 3 month point so you know your good. Next make sure you tell your Neurologist right away to make sure your seizure meds are ok for the baby if not you'll have to switch those, i also had regular/frequent appts with my neurologist throughout my pregnancy. If you want to talk more please reach out to me on FB!!
