I take an oral Lorazepam for a recovery medication. Only use it when I have cluster seizures.
Like Christine I have clusters of partial seizures and I take clonazepam fast acting tablets that disolve under my tongue to help stop the clusters. I'm almost always self aware enough to administer it to myself. If I didn't stop the clusters they would continue with 2 or 3 an hour for perhaps days.
Hi ,I was given s rescue med( I have clusters of partial seizures)) called buccal midazolam It's a liquid in a small needless syringe ,you shirt it into your cheek s & massage it in NOONE demonstrated it's use My daughter showed us how to do it as she had experienced it's use My problem My awareness is so impaired I would not be able to do it myself ,the liquid wouldn't sing into my cheek so I ended up gagging ,& swallowed it VILE My husband refused to help me with it as he felt he was forcefully medicating me ! In the earlier days clobazam used to work reasonably well but they put me on 40 mg a day so my body has got used to the med. I'm sure loads of people will have more ideas Stay safe
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member thanks. I will ask my Dr on the 26th for the EEG reading
I didn’t know there was such a thing. I take cllonszapam but the regular pills. I need something like dissolvable ones.
I use lorazepam .5 mg when I feel an aura coming on and for me, it stops it completely. So far, I've been very lucky as I haven't had a seizure for over 10 years but I put it down to the availability of the lorazepam. That, and deep breathing!!
