Can anyone recommend me any doctors that work with patients with epilepsy i have been reading all this but I haven't been able to gather one from all of these people please some help needed
Again it depends on where you live. The best hospital I have ever been given help from exists in Boston, MA.
Beth Israel deaconess medical center. Harvard University’s Medical School chose that hospital to educate its students. I had the Depth Electrodes Test, and the VNS implanted there also.
That all depends on where you live, Mary. I live just north of Bridgeport, CT. So, I go see a neurologist at Yale/New Haven Hospital's neurology department. As for who is eligible for the VNS, you would have to ask your neurologist. Luckily, I was, and I became one of the first 1,500 people in the world to get a VNS back in the late 1990's. My best friend also has a VNS and she was one of the first 1,000 people in the world to get one. The company that invented the VNS is based in Houston, TX. They used to be called Cyberonics, but the owners of the company sold it to another medical technology firm that is based in Europe a few years ago.
