Lamictal Appetite
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi,
My Dr. has been gradually increasing my dose of Lamictal. I am currently on 250mg in the morning and 250 at night so 500mg total a day. Has anyone experience a loss of appetite while being on this dose or close to this dose?

Unfortunately I've done the opposite & between it ,Keppra , clobazam && lockdown I've put weight on . Interestingly the only med I've lost weight on was Topiramate ,I lost 4 stone Funny how they all affect us differently

jrdrosen, loss of appetite is one of the many side effects of lamictal there are many more depends on your system. I do know as the dosage increases, your rash and other side effects will increase as well.

Yes. Mine is 200 twice a day. I also take vimpat. Apparently it's a narcotic. 150 twice a day. But yes, I have eaten a lot less since being on that dose of lamictal.
