Hi all this is my first time posting so please bear with me. I was diagnosed when I was 14 and now I'm turning 43 but ever since I was diagnosed with epilepsy I can't focus on stuff or pay attention to anything. I read once that there are more epileptics that have ADD or ADHD in the U.S. than people who don't have epilepsy and have ADD or ADHD
i think add/adhd and seizures is because when you have and had a seizure... everything is out of wack and you need to 'reboot your brain'.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member fun fact... add/adhd symptoms are Impulsiveness, Disorganization and problems prioritizing, Poor time management skills, Problems focusing on a task, Trouble multitasking, Excessive activity or restlessness, Poor planning, Low frustration tolerance, Frequent mood swings, Problems following through and completing tasks, Hot temper, and Trouble coping with stress. after my seizures (witch last a couple of minutes to a hour) and/or my meds it's... poor time management, disorganization, problems focusing, multitasking issues, restlessness, frustration issues, mood swings, completing task issues, and trouble coping with stress.
yes. it's hard to listen to any details, and anything lasting or requiring my attention actually makes me unhappy
They just diagnosed me with adhd ontop also. Their def intertwined and connectioned somehow
I do have ADD w my epilepsy. And autism. They are all neurodivergent conditions, so it makes sense that one like myself could have all 3
Interesting question...I never knew that. I definitely don’t have ADD or ADHD, if anything it’s the polar opposite.
