i take folic acid (vitamin) and i used to take trileptal (well the generic name Oxcarbazepine) but stopped it because it did nothing. i think the folic stuff you need (boost your blood if its low). one vitamin per day is all you need. to much and it will get gut pain. trileptal has the usual side effect stuff so thats fine. what if the migraine is cause by trileptal?

My son has taken both at the same time. Interesting. He has terrible seasonal allergies and his sinus headaches were off the chart when he was on trileptal. So i can't really answer your question but I do think his usual headaches were worse on trileptal. He recently switched to Zonegran.

Did you try eliminating the folic acid for a week or so while on trileptal to see if it changed the headache issue?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member maybe the trileptal didnt 'play well with others' or just didnt play nice with the folic.

I was thinking the Triliptal was the cause i started taking that first for a few weeks. And when I started the Folic, i had my first headache. Thats why i was a bit confused.
