Still Confused
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anybody else start having seizures out of no where after the age 37? Also does anyone else understand why this could have happened one night outta nowhere after so late in life. No infections or high fevers either???

Cerebral Cavernous Malformations. Big words for on or more ,bundles of blood vessels in your brain. Suggest you check out "NORD" ,National Organization for Rare Disorders, rarediseases.org. TREMENDOUS amount of information for all seizure problems. HIGHLY recommend it to all. FYI ,these bundles of blood vessels, lesions, are most dangerous if they "weep" bleed or increase in size. Condition is more prevelent in females ,but not exclusively, and generally occurs between thirty and forty years of age. Genetics are a factor. Hope this helps.

overstimulation of any kind at all is a huge seizure trigger for me. I never knew the "episodes" I had and the erratic behavior were complex partial seizures. Lights and sound are the worst for me at this point. TV has become almost impossible to watch due to all the flashing lights. CBD oil and cannabis oil have been the best at preventing most of them. Good luck.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member anything can cause a seizure. it can be genetics, a car crash, a infection, viruses, ect. and there can be a time laps between the event and the first seizure. i have genetic seizures and my first seizure was when i was around 5 years old. drs didnt know for the longest time because there were no food seizures (what i have).

I'm 58, and if I get over stressed or too tired this has happened to me. Totally unexpected, and depressing.
